Dear author, The Service Tax paid in excess due to calculation error may be adjusted against next month liability provided such adjustment is upto Rs.100000/- under proper intimation to the Department.
In ant other case u may claim a refund of Service Tax paid in excess under Section 11B of the Central Excise Act,1944 which provisions are applicable to Service Tax.Such refund has to be claimed within a period of 1 year from the excess payment.
