Advice needed on lawcet-2012 - open university

Guest (Querist) 25 March 2012 This query is : Resolved
I have passed 10th Certificate in 1989 and didn't clear 12th. Then I have done B.Com from Osmania University, Hyderabad in 2000 and after that I have passed MBA from regular college in 2002. Am I eligible to write LAWCET-2012 and am I eligible to get admission into 3 years LLB course? Please reply urgently as I need to submit application for the same in next 2 weeks. Thanks in advance.

you have not cleared our 12th class examination, how you were permitted to appear in subsequent examinations?

Anyway, as per my knowledge, your 12th pass certificate is must.

I think most university ask for 10+2+3 years graduation.

If some university asks for graduation only, you can apply and get admission.

Many thanks for the quick response.

The prospectus mentions the following regarding qualifications:

" 3 year LL.B / B.L. Course: The Candidates for 3 year LL.B. / B.L. should have passed any Graduate
Degree (10+2+3 pattern) of a recognized University with 45% of aggregate marks or any other
examination recognized as equivalent by the Universities concerned.

The applicants who have obtained 10+2 or graduation / post graduation through open Universities
system directly without having any basic qualification for prosecuting such studies are not eligible for
admission into the law courses."

As mentioned earlier, I have passed B.Com through open university and as such haven't passed 10+2 and passed only 10th standard.

As far as my knowledge goes, B.Com from Open University is recognized as equivalent degree and with the same degree I have completed MBA from regular college
after having secured statewide rank of 488. But this was 10years back. Looks like things have changed drastically over the years.

If this is what the present scenario is , what are the options available for me to pursue a career in law and also the legal remedies I can go for?

What is the "Basic Qualification" for pursuing degree? And the Supreme Court has ruled against the post graduate courses, not the undergraduate level. Any pending cases relating to this issue in courts?

Is Osmania , [distance by post etc] recognised for Law??? or Bar council??

Where can I find if the degreee is recognized by bar council? I didn't find this information anywhere.
