Preservation of important documents.

(Querist) 23 August 2015 This query is : Resolved
Sir,
I want to preserve my important documents such as some registered sale deeds, some other agreements on stamp papers notorised etc.
I can think of scanning them and keeping them in electronic format.
I want to know whether such scanned documents serve same purpose as original?
Or by what means I should safely preserve them to be equally authentic legally ?

the scanned documents can not be treated as originals. it is better to keep them in electronic format because, their CTC can be obtained in case of loss/destruction etc

According to your own "anubhav", what would be your feelings if your parents, wife, friends, relatives or your employer treat your duplicate as a real you and discard you as a waste?
