Capital punishment is uncivilised  and incompatible to  civilised society.

It is based on the deterrent theory of punishment as to deter the mass from committing such brutal and vicious crime which may lead them to such a pathetic end. Indian  Penal Code in sec 302 provides for Capital Punishment for the offence of culpable homicide amounting to murder. Many eminent personalities of our country such as Jawaharlal Nehru, Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, including our father of the nation Mahatma Gandhi had debated in favour of the abolition of death penalty. Still in many countries it is in operation subject to many debates. And in my opinion in a country like India with so much population where it is difficult to implement the law and order properly to implement the reformative theory for such vicious crime for which death penalty is assigned is not a pragmatic approach.  So death sentence, which is being given in India in rarest of rare cases as decided in the landmark judgment of Bachhan Singh’s case , which also upheld the constitutionality of death sentence, should not  be abolished in India.

It is against Human Rights. One who cannot give life does not possess the right to take away another's life. When most of the countries have abolished death sentence, a peace loving country India should not have such inhuman punishment option.
