Transfer of property

Hi ,

My Father in law wants to transfer the property (in Haryana) to his son however the stamp duty is around 80,000 - 90,000. Can he give a gift deed to his daughter in law (me).

What is the stamp duty on gift deed. Is this the right way or there are any other possibilities.

Thanks

If he wants to transfer the property immediately he can go for either GIFT DEED or SETTLEMENT DEED, with life interest. If he intends to convey the property rights, favg his dear ones, only after his time he can go WILL.

If your father in law wants to transfer his property to his son during his life time then registered gift deed is the best option , he have to pay 1% stamp duty on circle rate / market rate (opt one) of the total valuation of the property and 2% registration charges of the total valuation of the property.

Yes, as properly advised, gift deed will be best option for immediate transfer of property .
