hello, i want to rent out my 2 bedroom flat in chennai. i got the 11 months lease agreement signed..is it required to get this registered even if it is only for 11 months. i heard only registered lease agreements will hold strong if we ever had to go to court for eviction process. please clarify my understanding.

Lease agreement for 12 months or above 12 months period is required to be registered.

The registration of 11 months rental agreement is optional and not compulsory. It is valid in law as well as in court too.
