Property status in jharkhand

Hi Experts,

I have a question you may find interesting. I haven't found the answer to my question anywhere. Hoping you will shed a light here.

My great grandfather who was a tribal man, bought a piece of residential land from a Muslim--non-tribal person. Then he gifted this land to my grandma who married a non-tribal. Now we want to sell this land. Is this land classified as general land or ST land, or comes under the CNT Act? Is it legal to sell this land to a non-tribal?

You have posted that:

"My great grandfather who was a tribal man, bought a piece of residential land from a Muslim--non-tribal person."

The confusion is apparently between: Tribal Land or Tribal's land.

Apparently the land is notntribal land.

Soem publications suggest: The govt has allowed use of traibal land.

Apparently the abbreviattion used by you ;CNS ; is for ChotaNagpur......

However the notifications and Tenacy Act should be referred.

Local counsel specializing in revenue/property/civil matters and well versed with local laws and amendments can opine the best.
