police and murder suspect

Hello sir ,

ill take an example for my question for example person 'A' has murdered by person 'B' . but police wont get the proper evidence to prove that person 'B' is a murderer . still police will arrest that person 'B' as a suspect .

in this situation do the police have the right to physically torture the suspect ??
