Partition

If a single floor is going to be partitioned by metes and bounds amongst two families, does the partition needs to be exclusive i.e there will be minimum portion of the floor common to both parties. If the floor has say only one cooking space one bathroom , then how can the cooking area and bathroom be partioned by metes and bounds?

Instead of partition the space, the party can value the partition portion and colllect the money as partition consideration.
