Order XXI rule 41 cpc

Is an affidavit required in support of an application filed under or.21 rule 41?? Does all IA's require an affidavit irrespective of the fact that no fact is required to be proved in IA.? Kindly reply with the provision of law. The question is based on Kerala and AP rules.

In civil matters all applications are to be supported with an affidavit.

Sir, can u tell me the section of law which states so. In Kerala civil rules, if in an interlocutory proceeding Any fact is required to be proved, then it has to be through affidavit. Kindly let me know the provision which requires affidavit
