You can record that difference during the cross examination.

Show that difference to the witness during cross-examination and ask him whether he had stated so-and-so to the police when they recorded his statement. Let such contradiction be recorded in the cross-examination in the language of the court.

But i read somewhere that the defense lawyer will not have Case dairy access. i.e 161 Cr Pc is not available with the defense. is that true.?
