whether on death of proprietor the registration under VAT can be succeeded by the another family member

If the proprietor of the firm has died in an accident and his father or any other member wants to succeed the same firm by applying to the authorities  for continuation of the same TIN No. and the ammendment in registration certificate Is this possible under VAT Law or the fresh registration is required

The question itself have a problem.  You have mentioned proprietor of a firm.  Normally the firm denotes the partnership company.  where if one partner dies the other/s can continue the business in the same name and fame.  Whereas in Propritorship business everything has to see the change.
