Right of widow for deceased husbands share

Hello sir,

My friend who died last year due to liver problem.He belongs to Kerala Hindu Nair community.His wife is now claiming share of his property .She is all set to remarry .Is any legal ground for her demand ? We have offered some amount to restart her life.But she is sticking to property share ? Please clarify ...Thanks

Wife is entittle to claim her share in the share of her deceased husband.

Thank yo sir !!! Even if she remarry ,she is eligible for the property share.There no property on my friend's name .. Its on his father's name...He got one more brother.. Thanks again!

Even if the property is not the husband's name, it appears that the property is ancestral and he(husband) would have a share in it.

Her entitlement does not distinguish if she remarries.
