Contract labours !!!

In our company contract labourers receiving daily wages on tonnage basis, Whether this contract labourers are to be covered under the following act.

 

1.     Contract Labour (RA) Act

2.     EPF Act

 

In EPF Act, on what wages we need to deduct PF ? (Whether on minimum wages or Maximum wage limit of Rs.6500/- per month)

Day one any person engaged of work, he has to be covered with ESI, for EPF if his job is for day or two EPF is not required

Per day 100/- as per factories act of Pondicherry for 8 hours

1. They are covered by Contract Labour Act.

2. The EPF has to be deducted on wages, including minimum wages. The EPF Department has recently clarified what wages are covered. Please check this forum for the recent judgement or the EPF website where the clarification is published. epfindia.com
