are the lawyers out of income tax return if yes plz show the judgments of any Hon'ble High Court of India or Supreme Court of India.

No lawyers are not outside Income Tax Act everyone is liable to pay Income tax if the taxable Income exceeds the maximum amount chargeable to tax.

I agree with the view of Mr. Sanjeev & Mr. JSDN. Lawyers like any other individual are liable to income tax & have to file their return of income if their income exeeds the exemption limit.

No, lawyers are not out of the purview of income tax act, they have to pay the tax on the taxable income as limit prescribed under the Act1961

Sir, lawyers are liable to pay income tax as per slab rate of I.T. Act on the taxable income and have to file a return of income under the income tax 1961.

Advocates, Lawyers are professional.This legal professsion also under ambit of  Service Tax and Income Tax. Even Professional should keep proer Books of accounts.

Lawyers have to pay income-tax and file returns under the head "Profits and gains from business or profession".

Depending on the level of income they may have to maintain account books, and above a certain level they will have to get their income audited also.

Offcourse lawyers are also bound to pay tax on their professional income ! Why would they anywz be left out of the purview of paying tax ! plz refer the income tax act, 1961.
