Litigation on revenue sites

All,

I am stuck with a problem and seek advice from this helpful community.

At 2003, I purchased a revenue site (Gramthana). We did the due diligence including posting notices in newspapers about the intent, getting the documents verified etc. The registration process was fine and I have paid the property tax also.

About 6 months back, group of 4 sisters have filed a case in court stating they also have a claim on the property and they have put a board around the area. They claim that they are also entitled for a say since there was a change in the law to include daughters in the ancestral property. The land belongs to 4 brothers and all the signatures are there in the documents, The litigation is filed by the daughters of one of the brothers. The person who formed the layout is not to be traced.

Upon speaking to them, it seems they are colluding since the prices have shot up and they want to get some money out of us. In my view the change in ancestral property inheritance came into place in 2005. So it should not hold retrospectively.

My other question is that there is a rumour that the property may be bought by govt for building a road. The villagers believe the govt compensation goes to the original landlord and I may not be eligible for it even if I have registered the property. Is this true?
