hostile witness


who can declare hostile witness?

The court can declare a witness to be hostile at the behest of the party who has called him for deposing. for example if prosecution has called a witness to depose and he deposes against the prosecution, the PP can request the court to declare the witness hostile. It gives the right to the PP to cross examine such witness.
