I would like to know in the case of LWP (Leave Without Pay) deduction is made on basic salary or gross salary?
Please elaborate if the law is different for employees on probation and otherwise.

The calculation is made on no. of days in the month and accondingly your basic pay is reduced. After that on the modified basic other allowances will be calculated.
