Cruelty to desertion possible ?

Yes, desertion can be added as a ground of cruelty but in corss examination stage to add the same, you have to file an interim petiotion to amend the main petition.

File an application in the Hon'ble court for changing the grounds, The court may allow the same, if the other party does not objects or you make a proper representation. But please note that you need to show a continued desertion of 3 years, other wise this ground will fall.

Is that 3 years or 2 years ?

also 3 or 2 years of desertion before the divorce petition is applied?
