Process to buy sc land

Hi All,

we are four people , we are buying one land which is belongs to SC (financially sound person), one of us belongs to SC category , we can buy land on his name but to avoid future conflict we want to have equal ownership on the land. We have consult with some lawyer but did not get any satisfactory answer. this is agricluture land and we want to use it for agriculture purpose only. Is there anyway we can buy this land or better to avoid this kind of land ??

If the land is seller's self acquired, then you can buy it. If it is assinged/D patta land, you cannot buy it.

Thank You Sir for your quick response.

Actully in rajasthan ,patta is assigned for land . I have few more query hope you don't mind.

1) Can we buy land in the name of firm.As we are planning to start some small scale farming.

2) If we buy land on lease , how long we can hold land for lease any duration for this.

Patta land can never be leased or sold. You can take nonagricultural land on lease for a period of 30 years. If in the middle of 30 years, you can surrender it on the conditions.
