177 Motor Vechile Act

Hi,

Recently I have been stopped by a Police constable while driving a two wheeler and they asked me the Documents of the vechile and my driving license. I showed them all and they told "everything is fine". But still you are charged under "177 Motor Vechile Act" and got spot fine of Rs.50 from me. When I asked for what, i didnt get the answer. Could you please let me know, what is the Act is for or where i can get information abt the acts.

Thanks, Vijay
