What is an affidavit?

What is an Affidavit?

i am Vignesh K. and i am staying as tenant in the house, i have a Lease agreement between me and my owner (not notrized) from the date of 04/01/2014 to 03/31/2014 2 years, since my lease period is over i wanted to shift other house, i asked my lease money back, but the owner is keep on asking more time to give my money back, can i do affidavit as a proof of  that i have given the lease amount 2.5 Lakhs  to the owner and i am not interested in staying this house.

Please advise me how to create the proof of money which is given as Lease amount (Deposit) since i have given it by cash.

Affidavit is not necessary. Your communication between you and owner about lease money back is the evidence. Keept it hard copy for future evidence. In that communication he accepted to pay. That is all for evidence.

Thank you for your Interest in this regard Sir,

i have communicated orally, i don't have a hard copy of the communications, but he told me that the only way to pay the money is he needs to arrange some Loan from bank, for that he need to file an Income Tax proof, so he falsely created a Rental agreement document (please see attached) on 05/12/2014 which says effective from 03/05/2012 and taken signature from me, i am worried, is he trying to cheat me with that as proof?
