Wether delegation of delegation is possible

A suit filed by the father for fixation of boundary of the property belongs to his son. His son is working abroad and  was made as a defendant in the said suit. Notice served to him and he set ex-parte. No power of attorney executed. Subsequently the original plaintiff (father) executed a Power of Attorney to his wife for conducting the suit. Whether there is proper authorisation to the Plaintiff(father)? If yes, Whether he can delegate his power to his wife by executing a Power of Attorney? whether the suit is maintainable?

If there is a clause in power of attorney of father that he can delegate the powers given to him, to other person then and then only father can delegate his powers further.
