Stamp paper validity

Dear All,

Request you to clarify the following points: Residential property situated in Tirunelveli District, Tamilnadu. Owner is staying in New Delhi. The property is given on rent: Do we need to purchase stamp paper for rental agreement from Tamilnadu only or can we get the same from New Delhi? or can we do the same on e-stamping. Is it necessary for this to be registered/notarised?

Expecting a response which is legally tenable.

Thanking you in anticipation.

Best Regards.

Place of purchase of stamps is irrelevant.

E-stamping is at your discretion.

Registration/notary is according to state law.

You have to purchase the stamp paper from Tamil Nadu as the Location of Property is Tamil Nadu. As far concern about Registry/Notary of Agreement. Then if the Agreement is making for 11 months than Attestation of Notary is fine but if you are planning to make Rent Agreement for more than 11 month than it is recommended to make it register as the Value of Notary Attestation for Rent Agreement is valid for 1 year OR its the choice of the owner to how to make it attest.
