If the Gross consultancy receipts exceeds Rs.10.00 lakhs he is liable to collect and pay service tax. Further, Profession tax should be paid as per the same determined by the State of Maharashtra.

The TDS pertains to Income Tax .  No service tax.  Profession Tax is levied by the local authority (Corporation or Municipality etc.).

Thanks for the reply. But I have a doubt. The Consultant does not deliver any material.

Thanks. My doubt is that since consultant is not delivering any kind of material, shall he have to pay service tax. Kindly reply.
