The Tamil Nadu Chamber of Commerce and Industry has hailed the release of the details of property tax levied for buildings in Madurai on the Internet by the Madurai Corporation. In a release to the press, the Chamber Senior President, Mr S. Rethinavelu, said that the release with door numbers and street names, in line with the request of the Chamber, has brought transparency in the levy of the tax and the proactive step would ensure more revenue to the Corporation.

All the Local Bodies under the their respective State Mpl Admn should Provide all the infroamtion, as above , in all Mpl Corporations , and all local Bodies Etc

I am a consulant for school in Madurai corporationlimits,I would like to know whether schools or educational institutions are exempted from Paying property tax,pl reply or clarify

There is provision under the Local Body/ies Act/s- you have to apply for exemption through local body to State Govt and State Govt may approve / accord the exemption for Religious -Charitable - Educational Institutes etc - However it is not as of right - it is discretion of the S Local Body & State Govt .
