Pension

If a pension er in india who is a hindu converts to muslim does he has to inform pension sanctioning authority about his conversion to muslim.

will his pension be affected by his conversion to muslim religion?

If the conversion results in a change of identity appropriate alterations in the records in the pension office will have to be made. For instance if after conversion the pensioner assumes a new name, want to abandon the old name in all the records pertaining to him, the change has to be recorded in the pension office records also. Otherwise change of religion does not affect eligibility or quantum of pension. If the conversion changes the status of his wife as wife it can affect eligibility to family pension of the wife. But it will have to be looked into by a court of law on a case to case basis
