Need insight

Hi friends,

I have a doubt on how the trial, generally speaking, proceeds. Let's say the prosecution has 5 witnesses and defense also has 5 witnesses. Is it standard procedure for prosecution to present all their witnesses one after another (and then cross-examination by defense)? Only after all the 5 prosecution witnesses are done with, the defense presents its list of witnesses on the stand.

In a nutshell, all prosecution witnesses first ... followed by all defense witnesses. Is this how it is usually done?

Thanks.
