Lawyer notice on inherited property

I have received a lawyer notice stating they have stakes in our property. I have all the documents and patta. I am yet to reply. One of my friend told me , if lawyer notice is not replied in the stated time, Court will give ex-party judgement to whatever their claim is is.

Is that true? inspite of me having all the documents,Will court give such a judgement .

I am currently not in India.

Subsequent to the legal notice the complainant may file case in court of law.

The court shall issue the summons and decide the matter.

If you don't contest it may be decided Ex.Party.

Submit a fitting reply to the legal notice, thru your lawyer.

So court will issue me the summon before deciding.

That is a very important information for me.

Thank you and appreciate the reply.
