Lawyer demanding money after 2 years

2 years ago my ex-wife had filed for divorce under 13a. I had appointed a lawyer for my case. I also had filed for RCR thrugh this lawyer. As agreed I paid the lawyer what he demanded then for both divorce case and RCR.

1 year after divorce was filed by the ex-wife, she filed 498a.

As I was being tortured by ex-wife, I agreed to a mutual divorce. My lawyer didnt advise or got involved in the negotiation for the mutual divorce case. On the day the decree for MCD was to be passed, the lawyer left the court half way and left me to alone to face the situation.

For 498a case, I appointed another lawyer and got acquiited in the case.

Now my ex-lawyer has sent a notice demanding one lac as balance payment for 3 cases. The lawyer didnt argue or represent me in the 498a case. The other 2 cases were never held as intended and got closed through mutual divorce.

I dont know how and why the lawyer is demanding so much money and after such a long time. What am I supposed to do?
