Yes you have to pay stamp duty and registration fee's. In Gujarat there's stamp duty of 3.5% and 1% registration fee's on valuation of property.

This is transfer of immovable property.

A transfer of an immovable property without  a registered deed is invalid hence it is mandatory as per section 17 of the trasnsfer of property act that the deed should be executed by a registered deed by paying the appropriate stamp duty and the registration charges

Gift Deed is a "compulsorily" registrable document under Section 17 of the Registration Act.

Stamp duty is a State subject which differ from a State to another, check with area Sub-Registrar / document writer / lawyer.
