Getting indian citizenship

Dear Experts,

I was born in India in 1980 but as both my parents were Nepalese I acquired Nepali citizenship. But now I want to acquire indian citizenship and have been residing in Chandigarh for last 3 years.

I was confused regarding whether to apply for citizenship under the clause 5(1)f or under 5(1)a.

The information from official site was as follows:

*Application for registration as a citizen of India of  India under section 5 (1) (f) of the Citizenship Act,

1955 made by a person who or either of the parents was a citizen of Independent India and has been

residing in India for 1 year before making the application

*Application for Registration as a citizen of India  under Section 5(1)(a) of the Citizenship Act, 1955

made by a person of Indian origin

Please help....!!!
