Buying an sc/st assignment land

Hello Team,

Need guidance and suggestion from Forum team members here. One of my relatives had bought a land in 1995-1996 from a person who had in turn bought it from an SC/ST person. He (The mediator person) had bought a bigger land from SC/ST person and had sold 10-15 individual plots out of that to different 10-15 people. Now that SC/ST person has come back and told that he was pushed forcefully to sell the land and he wants all of it back.

It seems that, back in the day (20 yrs ago) the SC/ST person was paid decent amount of money but a lawyer is persuading him now (Seems like he is also trying to gain with this case)

And all these 10-15 people have bought it from the mediator , so this is like a third party sell. And Out of the 10-15 plots, most of the people have constructed the houses and the order has come for 5 of them (including my relative) from the lower court to return back the plot/land to the SC/ST guy. The case right now has gone to Collector for hearing and the land return is put on Stay until Collector hears it out. Wanted to know what can be done here ?? Many people have invested their hard earned money in construction of the house...Any suggestion is appreciated..

What do you expect from the forum, when you have knowing purchased a land from SC/ST knowing that , that land can  not be sold ?  Now that there is already a litigation, contest that with your advocate ?  There can not be any solutions for things done knowingly all such repurcussions .

Added to all this the atrocity factor may further complicate, if the seller wants to fix you.

Sir this is not for me. I posted this for my old relatives who are not internet friendly.

Also, they have not bought it knowingly, they were not aware back in the day 20-25 years ago, when they bought it, that it was originally owned by an SC/ST person.

As I stated earlier they had bought in from another person who originally had bought from an SC/ST guy.

So there are multiple buying and sales in between, and they are the end owners. And my relatives and 10 other people were not the direct buyers, there are not just one family but 10 other families here who are impacted.

They have not done something knowingly or atrocity on this case, may be they did not do the due diligence on the property of all the past sellers and buyers before buying it.

We will definately consult with an advocate.

Thanks

In the title of your query; You have mentioned that: 'Buying an sc/st assignment land'.

In your posts you have mentioned it was an assignment or inaam or land given under some scheme.

First of all obtain the copy of the notice/order from court, and collector and the scheme under which the land was allotted/assigned.

Obtain full chain of ownership and and all link documents and show these to a very able counsel specialising in revenue/property/civil matters for a considered opinion.

The most important information is not provided by you.   Whether the transactions are registered or not ?  Registration authorities refuse to register such lands and all these transactions are done in mutual faith in between the parties mostly on Rs.5/- stamp paper.
