Regarding PF deduction.

It is common that most of the Company, now days deduct PF in the following manner.For instance, the CTC show, PF amount deductable for instance, Rs.2000/ PM, where as while making payment contribution to PF agency, the said company reflect, as a Sum of Rs.1000/- towards employer share and another sum of Rs.1000/-towards employee contribution. NOW, my query is , is the procees are O.K. , if not, why cont the Company contribute Rs.2000/- from its part?

Dear member,

As per statutory provisions of PF,  the contribution @ 12% of employee basic will be deducted from employee and an equal amount will be added to it and deposit with the PF Authority.  So the total contribution from employee & employer would be 24% of the basic.   However, in your case , the total contribution is being deducted from your salary and despositing with the PF Authority as Employee & Employer Contribution.

You just verify your salary slip and calculate on the basis of your basic salary.

CTC means: Cost To Company.

In CTC Sheet Company shall state:

 Basic salary (....% of TFC Total Fixed Cost)= Rs….

And then: PF @ 12% of Basic salary = Rs…..

Or in other words your basic salary should be app., 8.34 times of PF contribution by the company.

If what is posted by you, is true then you can lodge a complaint with your appointing authority who has issued the appointment letter and CTC sheet to you, and ask them to deposit say Rs.2000/pm in your pf a/c towards employer's contribution and deduct the same amount from your salary, and also to deposit the difference for the preceding months and confirm the same to you in writing.

If you want to assign some task to the maverick HR guy who has framed this trend, lodge a compliant with PF department that after announcing PF component at Rs…………the employer is depositing only Rs………
