I am planning to buy a land from a property developer. The developer is going to construct a building in the land after the l got registered the land in my name. He is going to arrange loan facilities also. Totally 50 houses are going to constructed like this.
Before I register the land in my name, what are the documents to be verified to ensure the legal titile to the seller is good? This land is in Tamilnadu.

First of all collect all revenue record and record from the office of the Sub Registrar of assurances in relation to that land or plot of land. You will get all entries therein. However, if you really intend to purchase a land, why dont you hire the services of the lawyer with a request to investigate the title of that land at least for a period of 15 years. Let the lawyer protect your interest. You will do no better, even if you get the papers. It is highly technical.
