Do you mean to say that if the wife divorce her husband it is a disgraceful act but if the husband divorce his wife it is normal?

Vijay Kumar (Advocate)     28 November 2008

Not the least, sir. What I mean is that the stigma our conservative society puts on the divorcee persons is more prominent on poor girls/women than boys/men.

Divorce is still a taboo in our culture may it be for a husband or the wife of a broken marriage. Hope it should become a social stigma so that the couple before taking divorce should think twice. After all for us Indians marriage is an institution but unfortunately now a days it has become a business.
