Validity of one and the same person affadavit

Hi There,

I wanted to know how long an affadavit for "one and the same person" remains valid from the date it was made? I had this affadavid made in 2014 for my passport application. Now I need it again for my visa application and wanted to know if I could reuse the same or need to get a new affdavit with same content but with the recent date (2016)
