tenant's rights

can a tenant run a commercial activity in a residential apartment?? like running a Catering unit and make delivery through food delivery apps?? is it legally tenable?? we have severe water shortage in our apartment... we get water from outside through lorries for our day to day needs...The said tenant is making a lot of ruckus, make delay payment for water, creating nuisance to others by passing lewd remarks about others... what legal action can be taken against the said tenant and the against the owner of the flat??

You can. Give complaints in writing to your apartment residential society. As far as permission is concerned. For running a business activutues ask fake permission from the society.

What is your president or the secretary of your association doing?

Whether you are the only person aggrieved b y this or is it a common grievance for all other members of the association?

Whether all the other members who are aggrieved by this commercial activity of the rude and arrogant member have at least gave a complaint in writing to the association?

Whether the association had taken any action on the complaint or at least on its own to stop the commercial activity of that member?

Did you try to give a complaint to the local civic body to take note of this commercial activity hapening in the residntial property, that too by a tenant and the owner/member's ignorance towards it and have you requested the civic body to take proper legal action to stop the tenant from indulging in such comercial activities taht causes hardship and inconveniences to all other members of the apartment complex

If your answer is no for all the above questions, then you may take steps as suggested above
