Impact of Incorrect Mother's Name in Documents Having an incorrect mother's name in your documents can potentially cause issues in the future, especially when applying for higher studies abroad.

However, the extent of the impact depends on various factors. Possible Issues -

*Verification Processes*: Universities and immigration authorities may require verification of your documents, and discrepancies can lead to delays or complications. -

*Consistency*: Inconsistencies in your documents can raise concerns about the authenticity of your credentials.

Rectification Options - *Correction of Documents*: You can initiate the process of correcting your documents, starting with your birth certificate, SSLC, and passport. -

*Notarized Affidavit*: A notarized affidavit can be used to explain the discrepancy and provide clarification.

One and the Same Certificate - *Purpose*: A one and the same certificate, also known as a "bonafide certificate," can be used to confirm that different documents belong to the same individual. -

*Usefulness*: This certificate can help alleviate concerns about discrepancies in your documents. Recommended Approach -

*Rectify Documents*: Attempt to correct your documents to ensure consistency. -

*Notarized Affidavit*: If rectification is not feasible, consider obtaining a notarized affidavit to explain the discrepancy. -

*One and the Same Certificate*: If required, obtain a one and the same certificate to confirm the consistency of your documents. Conclusion While having an

incorrect mother's name in your documents can cause issues, it's not insurmountable.

By rectifying your documents or obtaining a notarized affidavit and one and the same certificate, you can mitigate potential problems and ensure a smoother process for your higher studies abroad.

Why did you not mention the name of your father? When your mother's name was wrongly noted from 1st standard to SSLC, what have you been doing all these years?  You have to get the notarised affidavit mentioning the discrepancy.

You say that your mother's name is wrong, but you have not mentioned that where and what mistake is found in your mother's name?

Especially if your mother's name matches with all your documents pertaining to you, then what is the problem are you going to face.

Your mother's name should not be inconsistent for one another document or certificate pertaining to you, in that case you should not be worried about your mother's incorrect name elsewhere.

If your mother is facing any problem with her incorrect name then she should only initiate process to rectify her name in her own documents subsequent to which you can adopt the same legal process to rectify your mother's name and not before that.

Since your mother's name is spelt as is found in all the certificates and there is no mismatch of her name from one document to another pertaining to you, in my opinion there should not be any concern about it until and unless you want to trigger the trouble for yourself and waste time, money and energy on unnecesary misguidance of rectification or any other process in this regard.

Since name  of your mother is same in all documents, you should continue and never think to change it.

It is better to consult and engage a local prudent lawyer for appreciation of facts / documents, professional advise and necessary proceeding.
