It comes under cruelty.  On the ground of cruelty you can get the divorce, provided if it is proved

How can stress related disease be cruelty to the other partner?

Already the partner is suffering becuase of stress. And then he's labelled as being cruel.

Ridiculous!

Due to work pressure coupled with sedentary lifestyle, stress can have its own toll on one's health. There may be various other factors e.g. rising expenses, financial constraints, family/social commitments etc.

Medical experts would probably agree that various ailments are attributed to stress.

However a stress induced medical disorder e.g. stress induced ulcer can not and should become a ground for seeking divorce.

Moreover in advanced medical care which is now available in our country along with holistic approach, yoga, physical exercise, adoption of healthy lifestyle majority of the diseases can be cured. Awareness levels have increased, and now majority of the people are not shy of seeking even expert psychiatric/counseling advice and to undergo therapy.

Both the partners should strive to save the marriage. In the hour of need each partner should support other. Who knows one who is seeking separation on some trivial issues may land up with the same problem in the time to come, and at that time if his/her partner, wards decide to desert him/her, then.......?????

However if one  partner is inhuman and cruel, then separation may be one of the best suitable options.

let us say there are inherited diseases, which are triggered by stress. Stress for couple of years trigerred this disease.

husband going thru stress due to wife's troubles for a period of 2 years and finally gets this disease.

my question: has anyone encountered such cases in court in which husband gets the divorce from wife?

It is believed that now even a disease like epilepsy is no more classified ground for seeking divorce.

Stress may be the reason for, triggering various ailments .However majority of the medical disorders e.g. ED are curable with medical/surgical intervention. Then there are age related medical issues e.g. female menopause and associated risks like female turning frigid, and stress may cause it even at a relatively younger age. Medical experts are researching and have published papers on conditions like male menopause.

Stress may aggravate medical problems like diabetes and associated risks. However proper counseling, medical care, and lifestyle modification has the scope for remedy and cure.

First stress. Now due to wife's troubles. What are you driving at?

@Anil: we have to think about all possible legal cases against wife, when wife threatens with a 498a and demands more money.

query "Stress related diseases; can result in divorce?" is to find out if there are any cases which have resulted in divorce.
