Dear All,
I have booked a flat of 1230 sq. ft. in Kolkata amounting to Rs.38,50,000 including a parking space of 130 sq.ft.I have initially paid Rs.15,00,000/- as booking amount since the flat was then nearing completion.I have availed bank loan for the remaining amount of 23,50,000/- which I am supposed to pay to him on the date of registration. But the developers have not received Completion certificate yet.They are asking me to pay 3.09% service tax on my property value.My queries are:
1. Is it mandatory to pay service tax even if I do the registration after they receive completion certificate?
2. I have paid an intial booking amount. Does service tax get payable even if we do partial payment?
