Salary certificate

Is it mandatory for the employer of an organisation to issue salary slips every month?

can the employer refuse the request of employee for salary slip?

If the employer refuses to issue salary slip even after repeated requests from the employee, is there any legal recourse available to the employee?

It depends on the practice of the employer.  Before computerization, there was no such practice and employees used to sign the Acquittance register for having received the salary.  Before resorting to legal recourse, issue the notice and feel their pulse.

what if the employer is silent even after issuing request letters and emails to issue salary slips?

Is it necessary for the employee to specifically mention the purpose for which he is requesting the salary slips?

or is the employer bound to issue the salary slips if the employee says it is required for his record purpose?

Does requesting for a salary slip tantamount to an act of insubordination?
