Query related to Defamation

In a matrimonial Dispute, husband filed for a divorce against wife. During the cross - examination of the husband in the court he deposed that the person who accompanied his wife is a tantrik. However, that person is a reputed businessman.

Can that businessman file the civil as well as criminal case against the husband (who told him as a tantrik).

If yes, Pls let me know the procedure.

firstly calling a person tantrik is not defamatory in the ordinary parlance but it could be under some circumstances which you will have to point out [innuendo] sent a notice denoting this aspect how it becomes defamatory calling upon him to file an affidavit saying he made a mistake was it noted down by the court firstly
