Once you become a Public prosecutor then they cannot be defence lawyer? Can the victim not Appoint a private lawyer? All hearings PP has to appear? How do they manage?

It is a state prosecuted case hence public prosecutor only can prosecute the case.
If it's a private criminal complaint then you can engage the services of any lawyer of your choice.
