Property rights in girl child

Hi everyone I need advice of my sister's daughter who is 13 months old and my brother in law is saying he doesn't like my sister and her daughter?? according to the law or Muslim law does my sister's daughter have any share in her father's property??If the Muslim personal law is clashing then can we go to court and claim some property??please help me thank you in anticipation
