Property issue

I am Krishna Dewoolkar. I am middle class salary man, my age is 59 yrs. In 2008, I have invested money in a property that the developer promised to give and still he hasn't given until now. I have already paid Rupees 7.5 Lakhs and as per the agreement he should have given me the property by 2014 and the agreement was signed in 2010. He told us there was some delay in the construction and didn't give any further date of the handover of property. Then how should I get my money back with interest or get the property that was promised? I have all the receipts and bank statement and also the agreement as the proof. Please kindly help me to get my money back since it has been 10 yrs. Also tell me if I can file the case against the developer now?

You can give complaint to R.E.R.A. in your state capital city. For long, home buyers have complained that real estate transactions were lopsided and heavily in favour of the developers. RERA and the government’s model code, aim to create a more equitable and fair transaction between the seller and the buyer of properties, especially in the primary market. RERA, it is hoped, will make real estate purchase simpler, by bringing in better accountability and transparency, provided that states do not dilute the provisions and the spirit of the central act.

You may show the said documents to a  very able LOCAL senior counsel of unshakable repute and integrity specializing in RERA/Consumer matters and well versed with latest citations, LOCAL applicable rules/laws and having successful track record…. and worth his/her salt ….for a considered opinion
