Power of attorney

I want to give POA to my brother, so that he can effectuate the sale of my late father's property in the native place. I live in Mumbai and cannot travel.

Is the POA that I execute in Mumbai valid to effectuate the sale of property in another state?

Does it need to be registered in Mumbai?

Hi,

You can execute a POA in Mumbai and get it registered in Mumbai at the office of the Sub-registrar of nearest location where you stay.

While drafting the POA, specifically mention the purpose of the POA with the descripttion of the property to be sold and for signing and execution of the sale deed of the said property.

The POA is valid to be used for signing the document on your behalf in any State of India.
