Rammohan B Alurkar (Secretary)     02 January 2013

Please help

Hello & G'Morning.

My question(s) relate to our CoOp Hsg Society:

The brother and sister-in-law (both non-residents of our Society) of one of our Society Members (he is resident in the Society) insist making FALSE entries in the visitors' register, like fake names of self, fake addresses of persons to be visited, fake vehicle nos., etc., going so far as to write own name as "thief" and the name of the President of India. What action can and should the Society take against these visitors indulging in such Criminal Actions?

This Member also wants the Society to give all Members' privileges to his brother and sister-in-law (both non-Members and non-residents of our Society). What relevant section of any Act / Rule can the Society invoke for rejecting this unrealistic demand?

Please HELP!

Warm Regards,

Honorary Society Secretary

society needs to issue a notice to the member asking him/her not to allow any of his/her relatives disturb the society or its members.

on receipt of complaint from any member of the society, Society may suo-moto invoke Sec. 50 (a) of the Bye Laws of the Co-op. soc. act i.e. not to do anything which causes inconvienece to the society and/or its members

as per, sec 50 (b) society may expel the member from the membership of the society.

sec. 51 states the procedure for expulsion of the member.

so society has all the powers to deal with such members and their relatives, employees, friends etc.
