N.K.Assumi (Advocate)     28 July 2012

Need your help please.

There is one Supreme Court Judgment between 1981 to 1990, where the apex court directs that witness should be allowed to be seated during his examination in the court. I have read it myself, but forgot to enter in my note book, and now I am not getting the same. Can some one please help me with the citation of this case? Thanking you all in advance.

Do you need to submit the citation in the court or you just want it for acadamic reading purpose? becoz if a witness is old and infirm or due to some  health problem is unable to stand comfortably, it is so common that the court does provide him a chair in the witness box if the witness asks for.  No need to show any citation for that.
