Mothers surname and religion to child

Hi. Can anyone please explain and provide a solution to my query. I am a hindu girl about to be married to a muslim boy. His mother is a muslim and father is a hindu. However he has recently changed his name and surname to muslim one. Can our child have my surname and religion( i am not willing to change) if the father of the child has agreed to give my surname to child. Please help.

Your surname is your dads name. It cannot be used legally as your kids name. It will be unlawful and illegal. It would amount to you marrying your father and kid born out of such relationship. According to Hindu dharma too it is against dharma.

Hi. If so then how is it possible that my fiance has changed his name and surname to his mothers now? However he is not a minor. If anybody can guide me if it is possible in terms of documentation as a child

The idiot who you are marrying changed his name recently ie after he attained majority ie after turning 18. Till that time, he continued to be Hindu as per law as his father is Hindu. Once he crossed 18, it is upon his wish to either remain in his father's religion/caste or follow something of his choice as per Law of land. So your kid now (future) will be Muslim as father is Muslim and may then can change his name/religion upon turning 18. But now if you change your kid's name to your dad's name, it will be illegal as per Law of land. Think about compatibility issues, this is not intercaste marriage, it is interreligion/intercommunity marriage. The circus of name change, will be one of the most bothersome headaches for kids born out of such wedlock. I hope you are able to understand the gravity of the situation. Wishing you good anyways.
